94 Degrees

It is 94 degrees here in my part of CO, which is hot in this state's standards. I know that it can get much hotter than this in other areas (thinking of you, Life In The Desert ) but today most people are either at the swimming pool or staying inside.

Two more Breyerfest Auction models have made their appearance on the Breyer Facebook page. The first was also a raffle model, and for the most part it seems people really enjoy it.

6/28/14 announcement, also the raffle model.

But today's horse really seem to hit a home run in the 'like' category.
Photo: Next in the BreyerFest Live Auction Countdown is Lot 3, a Chestnut Leopard Appaloosa with peacock spots on the Salinero mold (704)!

This is today's announcement. it is in the Salinero mold. I have known the Salinero mold to be very teetery, and so I don't own one yet. However, I have been eye balling Mistral Hojris  (photo below) for some while.

He is retired, but a still available in some stores. Until today I had actually forgotten that he was retired!

Both the Salinero mold and the Totilas mold are very similar. Here is a fantastic comparison I found a few weeks back.

Have a great day, and stand the summer heat well!

  1. Pretty horse models. My daughter collected the Breyer horses from a young age until she was in her teens. I don't even know how many are in boxes in the basement.

  2. That is so cool! I really enjoy collecting. I don't know how long the "phase" will last, but I have been in the "phase" for eight years, and I am loving it!

  3. Even though Salinero is a bit teetery, I would still recommend him. He's a very correct dressage horse (speaking from experience as a dressage rider) and he has a very sweet and expressive face. He just looks gentle. :)

  4. Thanks! I have noticed the gentle face in him, and so that is why he is on the wishlist. Since I show my models, I do need a good dressage horse. I ride some dressage too, and I love it!
