Tack.......

......Imaginary tack, that is!

Today I was going to do a "Story of the Horse" post, but I decided to try my hand at painting tack on the pictures using the "paint" gadget on nearly every computer. I think Trooper and Paintball really like the new rope halters......

 Purple solid.
Purple-multi.

Street Smart looks nice in his new western set....

......And Paintball thinks that his new western one-ear bridle is just stunning!

Hehehe. Until I can buy a lot of (real) Traditional tack, I will just paint the imaginary tack on them instead! :)

94 Degrees

It is 94 degrees here in my part of CO, which is hot in this state's standards. I know that it can get much hotter than this in other areas (thinking of you, Life In The Desert ) but today most people are either at the swimming pool or staying inside.

Two more Breyerfest Auction models have made their appearance on the Breyer Facebook page. The first was also a raffle model, and for the most part it seems people really enjoy it.
Photo: Here’s lot 26 of the BreyerFest Live Auction! The Glossy Dapple Flaxen Chestnut Pinto on the Clydesdale Stallion mold (80). This is also the Saturday Raffle Model!
6/28/14 announcement, also the raffle model.

But today's horse really seem to hit a home run in the 'like' category.
Photo: Next in the BreyerFest Live Auction Countdown is Lot 3, a Chestnut Leopard Appaloosa with peacock spots on the Salinero mold (704)!

This is today's announcement. it is in the Salinero mold. I have known the Salinero mold to be very teetery, and so I don't own one yet. However, I have been eye balling Mistral Hojris  (photo below) for some while.

He is retired, but a still available in some stores. Until today I had actually forgotten that he was retired!

Both the Salinero mold and the Totilas mold are very similar. Here is a fantastic comparison I found a few weeks back.

Kimbia's Colorful Twin

The Breyerfest auction model announcement today looks strangely familiar.

Photo: Get your Friday night fun started! Bid on Lot 5 of the BreyerFest Auction, a Glossy Rainbow Cheetah model on the Smarty Jones mold (586) on Friday, July 11!

Remember the Big Cat Series I talked about in this post? The first Big Cat announced in the series is Kimbia.

It looks like Kimbia and the auction model have the same markings.
It seems as if Breyer wants Kimbia to have a colorful twin! What do you think about this?

5 More

Hello everybody!
I am doing much better today (chicken-pox wise). The blisters are now scabbing, and only a few more pox's have popped up today on my legs, instead of my face or back. Hopefully they can be all healed by the time my family and I go on a vacation in the mountains for the 4th of July! I do have to mention, though that my little sister and my mom have now started to get chicken pox. However, it seems to be very slight.

Now to a more happy thought.

Breyer has announced five more auction models since I last posted about the subject. As you already know, I don't usually (even though some older models have caught my eye!) like vintage coloring's or vintage molds very much, but I really don't think I would mind this Espirit mold in vintage coloring announced today:

Story of the Horse: Street Smart

This is Street Smart. I got him for my tenth (or eleventh, can't remember) birthday. I actually picked him out myself. I was given money for my birthday, and I spent five hours looking at Breyer horses online. I liked the idea of getting Street Smart because he was part of a set that came with a doll, western saddle, hackamore bridle, and saddle pad. I didn't LOVE Street Smart himself, but because he came with everything, instead of getting something else, I bought him.

When I got Street Smart my Traditional collection was really low. He mostly just watched from above a dresser, watching me play with my rubbed Classics. However, when I got into MEPSA (and when my collection of Traditional's rocketed in numbers) I started to see him a little differently. He didn't place 1st-3rd in any of the shows I have entered him in the past few years, but he is no longer a shelf model overlooking my MEPSA winners and Grand Champions, but will be right alongside them, and even though he may not win any ribbons, he will always have a special place in my heart.

Favorite Horse Of the Week

I just realized that I haven't done a horse of the week since the tenth of June! Well, I am going to do some now to make up for it.

Black Beauties
Adorable!

The foal above reminds me of Stella.

New Pen Completed! (For the most part)

Daddy and I finished the pen/loafing shed on Saturday. Well, it still needs some more shingles, and the dutch door has to be made, and the fence needs wire on it to keep critters from going in..or the mini's from going out, but it is usable. I am very proud of it. Dad did a great job!

Half Pint approved.......
(Rosie is whinnying to me in this picture).
...and Rosie approved!

Have a great day!

Rosie's Birthday/ New Pen/ No Stella

Hello everybody!

I am sorry I haven't posted in the past few days, but many things have happened. More will be posted about  my busy life later.

Yesterday was Rosie's birthday. She turned eleven. To celebrate, I decided to make her a nice bran mash. Of course, Half Pint had to enjoy it as well, so I also made some for her.

Molasses, bran, carrots, apples, and warm water completed the yummy treat.
Waiting patiently.....well...kind of.

Rosie loved her bran mash. So did Half Pint!

Anyway, since I am getting a horse (though probably NOT Stella) soon, my dad and I have been working on a separate pen for the minis to stay in so that the horse will have the one that the minis are currently occupying.

 The new pen.
This will be a 8x12 shelter for them. It will have dutch doors and one or two windows.
The dutch door will be on the left side of this picture here.

Here comes the sad part of this blog post.

I got a call from Mrs. June a few days ago. She told me that Mrs. Tia found Stella's injury record and was shocked. Stella has had injections in her hocks and chiropractic appointments, and last year even after injections and four chiropractic appointments, Stella still had lameness. So, long story short, she has major back pain because of her hock issues, and she (unless the upcoming vet apportionment mentions something else that we can do) is pretty much non ride-able without pain, and even though she could be put on painkillers, you could never guarantee that you could ride for a long period of time.  So, (unless the vet says something else) their is about a 90% chance I will NOT get Stella.

Oh well. I guess the horse hunt continues!
