Spooky/TSC Models/Christmas Horse

Quite a few new models have popped up on the Breyer website and MH$P recently. I will start off with the spookiest looking characters, and make my way to the Christmas horse. Enjoy!

Breyer has already announced their Halloween collection. I am not a big fan of decorator models except for the few that catch my eye, so I will probably not be buying any of these models.

It seems as if the Goffert mold has been the go-to model for Breyer in 2014. It was used as the celebration model at Breyerfest, Kashmir in the Big Cat series, and now a Halloween Special called Night Mare.

Also, another surprising mold was used for the second Halloween Horse named Mischief Night. He is in Classic scale....and the last time we was used by Breyer was in 2001. Can you guess who he is?

....

That is right. The mold "Hobo" was used for the first time in 13 years.  I am sure some vintage collectors are very happy this mold is still in use.

Like most all Breyer Halloween models, these  horses both glow in the dark an eerie green color. I wish all of you the spookiest kind of luck getting your hands on them. Watch out at night....sometimes the headless horseman needs a new steed. bwahahahahaha!!!

Just so you know: I am not one to scare people, so I am sorry if my spooky comments sound like they originated from a child in kindergarten. :)

The Tractor Supply Company  exclusive models this year are very nice, Travis and Maverick.   Maverick seems to be least preferred out of the two, which would make a perfect amount of sense, being that Travis is in the Carrick mold. Maverick is in the Missouri Fox Trotter a.k.a Iron Metal Chief mold. He is a very pretty dun with points. While I do prefer Travis, I do think that Maverick would look very nice on my shelf. However, I find the MFT models to have really wonky looking legs.

at them!
The second TSC exclusive horse is in the ever popular new mold, Carrick. His name is Travis and he is a stunning black and white tobiano. I have also heard that Carrick has uneven legs..but I really want Travis. I just don't want to pay 80+ dollars for him when I am trying to buy a real horse.

Also, the Christmas Horse is available to buy! I have mentioned this pretty boy on my blog before, if you remember from a few months back. Bayberry and Roses is a pretty shaded grey. he does look a little "purple" however but it could just be the lighting on the photo.

It is hard to find a photo of him without his "clothes", but I will keep looking and post it here when I find one.

I LOVE this ornament.I think I will buy this horse, take off his ornament part, attach him to a base, then show him. He is so pretty! Just look at that face!

This is a very long blog post.....sorry about that! I just found I was a little behind in the model horse world than I thought.

The Last Of Them

If I am correct, Breyer just announced the last models going up for auction this afternoon. I really wish I was going to Breyerfest (someone pick me up a Platinum Star and Champagne Wishes!) but I am not going this year. I am happy for everyone who is going, though. Have fun!

94 Degrees

It is 94 degrees here in my part of CO, which is hot in this state's standards. I know that it can get much hotter than this in other areas (thinking of you, Life In The Desert ) but today most people are either at the swimming pool or staying inside.

Two more Breyerfest Auction models have made their appearance on the Breyer Facebook page. The first was also a raffle model, and for the most part it seems people really enjoy it.
Photo: Here’s lot 26 of the BreyerFest Live Auction! The Glossy Dapple Flaxen Chestnut Pinto on the Clydesdale Stallion mold (80). This is also the Saturday Raffle Model!
6/28/14 announcement, also the raffle model.

But today's horse really seem to hit a home run in the 'like' category.
Photo: Next in the BreyerFest Live Auction Countdown is Lot 3, a Chestnut Leopard Appaloosa with peacock spots on the Salinero mold (704)!

This is today's announcement. it is in the Salinero mold. I have known the Salinero mold to be very teetery, and so I don't own one yet. However, I have been eye balling Mistral Hojris  (photo below) for some while.

He is retired, but a still available in some stores. Until today I had actually forgotten that he was retired!

Both the Salinero mold and the Totilas mold are very similar. Here is a fantastic comparison I found a few weeks back.

Kimbia's Colorful Twin

The Breyerfest auction model announcement today looks strangely familiar.

Photo: Get your Friday night fun started! Bid on Lot 5 of the BreyerFest Auction, a Glossy Rainbow Cheetah model on the Smarty Jones mold (586) on Friday, July 11!

Remember the Big Cat Series I talked about in this post? The first Big Cat announced in the series is Kimbia.

It looks like Kimbia and the auction model have the same markings.
It seems as if Breyer wants Kimbia to have a colorful twin! What do you think about this?

5 More

Hello everybody!
I am doing much better today (chicken-pox wise). The blisters are now scabbing, and only a few more pox's have popped up today on my legs, instead of my face or back. Hopefully they can be all healed by the time my family and I go on a vacation in the mountains for the 4th of July! I do have to mention, though that my little sister and my mom have now started to get chicken pox. However, it seems to be very slight.

Now to a more happy thought.

Breyer has announced five more auction models since I last posted about the subject. As you already know, I don't usually (even though some older models have caught my eye!) like vintage coloring's or vintage molds very much, but I really don't think I would mind this Espirit mold in vintage coloring announced today:

I don't have a Strapless mold yet, and this girl is just absolutely stunning!

Photo: The next installment of the BreyerFest Live Auction Countdown is Lot 8, a Dapple Raven Black Icelandic (Mold 729). This dramatic model will be a wonderful addition to your collection!
I am anxiously awaiting for a regular run in this mold.

It seems Breyer has decided to make me really jealous. So much so, that they have used my three most favorite molds as auction models!

Stella Update/More Breyerfest!

Breyer has announced four more auction models while I have been absent from the category of models and in the world of getting a beautiful mare. I looked today at them, and they seem to really be favoring grey's for this Breyerfest!

6/15/14 announcement.

Oh My. I LOVE her! I don't have any models in this mold, and I just think is is stunning. If you have read this blog for a while, you know that I love almost any Paint or Pinto.

6/16/14/ announcement.
1

OK, please don't be mad, but I don't really prefer the vintage look. While I do like this mold, I like more "crispness" such that is in the newer painted models.

6/17/14 announcement.
1
First decorator model announced in this year's auction. I don't have any decorator models, but I do have one horse in this Ethereal mold (Noche Buena, 2012 Christmas horse) I really like him. I love the dynamic pose of this model, and the person who will get this boy will be very lucky!

Today's announcement.
2
STUNNING! her spots are very nice, and her shading is very good. She seems really glossed up. While I prefer Matte's, I think that she would fit very well into my (or anyone else's) model barn!

 Now on to Stella.

I was having a hard time waiting for this woman's decision. Neither my mom or my dad thought that she would pay for a vet or chiropractic trip to fix Stella. I nearly cried a few times...

But, I decided to fully to put my trust in God, and see how things played out.

I got am email a few hours later.

"Hi, just a quick update. Wendy wants to move forward with the vet seeing Stella for body issues. However, can't get her scheduled for 2 weeks. "

above: part of email from Mrs. Tia to me.

I jumped up and down with excitement, tears starting to come. I ran upstairs and called my dad (who was helping a friend move. My mom was also their) and told him. He decided not to tell mom until I could tell her myself (she wouldn't pick up her phone). Then, I called Mrs. June who couldn't believe it. She told me that she had gotten an email from Mrs. Tia that morning, saying that woman didn't want the vet or Chiropractor out (she just probably didn't want to pay for it).

I couldn't believe it!

Thank you, Lord.

So, I still have a chance to get her after all!

Breyerfest Live Auction

The first two Breyerfest Live Auction models have been announced. I think they are absolutely stunning! I can't wait for them all to be announced!

Photo: It’s your lucky day! The BreyerFest Live Auction Countdown begins!

Here is Lot # 12 – A dapple grey American Saddlebred Stallion with a custom tail (mold 571). This was designed by Tom Bainbridge when he visited Breyer HQ during the Big Easy Bash!

The first is a customized Traditional Saddlebred. I really like this mold. The new tail is so pretty, and the mane has had some adjustments as well. This dapple grey I REALLY like. (In this post, I mentioned I didn't really like dapple grey or grey models).

The second one announced is this palomino in the Totilas mold.
Photo: Lot #13 of the BreyerFest Live Auction is a Faint Metallic Dapple Palomino on mold #725, Totilas.

Join the bidding for the chance to take home one of these incredible test models created specifically for the BreyerFest Live Auction!

Sadly, I don't have the actual Totilas yet. The model is gorgeous (I am talking about the mold itself), but it seems a little teetery. If you have a Totilas, is it this way for you?

Till next time!

Sad

It seems that when you can't buy breyerfest tickets, all the good models start to come. I should probably just stop looking at the Breyer Facebook page altogether. I about died when these were announced as single-day ticket models.....

Silver Star

Sequins

Sterling

Glimmer

Glimmer is undoubtedly my favorite of the four. My least favorite would probably be Sequins because that mold has got some interesting conformation. However, I still want to own all of them.

On the other hand, I am also sad because of the passing of the beautiful Clydesdale, SBH Phoenix. He was euthanized on May 2nd because of a bad injury to his deep flexor tendon. My heart goes out the owners of this grand horse. He was a great stallion and sire.

Photo: Rest In Peace SBH Phoenix

We are so sorry to inform you all that the great Clydesdale stallion SBH Phoenix was euthanized yesterday due to a catastrophic injury to his deep flexor tendon. Our hearts go out to the Wismer Family at Wismer Clydesdales on the loss of this true gentleman and champion of the Clydesdale breed. “It was the end of an era today at Wismer Clydes. For 15 years, we have had the pleasure of SBH Phoenix in our life. It was 15 years and 1 week ago that we sat with Ray and Sharon Priebe and made the deal to acquire this great stallion. Phoenix was a once-in-a-lifetime horse that I was truly pleased to have experienced. Thanks ‘big Daddy,’ as the boys called you when they were little, for all the wonderful experiences you have given to us. It was a great ride that you made easy.” said Ron Wismer of Wismer Clydesdales. Phoenix was laid to rest in his pasture where he watched over his mares for so many years.

Wismer Clydesdales will still join us at BreyerFest, however with a beautiful Phoenix daughter, Cedarlane Gretchen. This 2005 mare has shown her winning ways with a win in the futurity cart at the USA Nationals and as a wheeler in Wismer Clydes six mare team when she was just 2-years-old. Like her father, Gretchen was named All American and All Canadian in 2012. We look forward to welcoming the Wismer Family and Gretchen at BreyerFest this July.
