Budweiser Horses/New Model

Long time no blog! My vacation was fantastic up in Breckenridge, but I really missed writing here! Anyway......

On July 4th, my family and I went to the Breckenridge Parade. I took the camera (of course) and started to take some pictures. As I was snapping photos of the 50 mile bike race starting line, I noticed this in the blurred background.

I zoomed in a little closer and saw the eight Clydesdale horses getting tacked up. They were going to be in the parade! The actual Budweiser Clydesdale's!

Once the bike race was underway, the parade started. The Clydesdale's started off.

So pretty!

Swoon.

Pure beauty.

Even the Budweiser Dalmatian, Chip, joined the fun and rode on the back of the wagon.

As it turns out, they were in Breckenridge all weekend. You could even pet them!

Sadly, I didn't get to pet them. But, this morning as we were leaving....we stopped by to see them in their stalls.

 They were quite relaxed.
 (This one wasn't so much).

They were so relaxed that one decided to lie down!

It was a lot of fun to see them. It was like meeting a bunch of actors.

So, I also mentioned a new model in the title.....didn't I?
After the parade, my family and I made our way down to the toy store. I walked in and saw this:

I ended up coming "home" with this:

This Big Chex to Cash has one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen on this model. That would be the reason why I paid twelve dollars more for him than I normally would have at the places I usually shop for Breyer horses.

Here are some more pictures of him:

I will have good quality photos up soon.  "Chexy" (I haven't found a good name for him yet...I might name him James Blonde..but that is undecided) is quite excited to meet Heza Copper Cowboy who looks very much like him. ;)

I know it is too late, but Happy 4th of July! :)

  1. What a neat and unexpected surprise to have the Clyde team there for the parade. I've been to Breckinridge before...great little town. We we're stay in a condo and a storm moved in, knocking the power out. We ate our pizza by candlelight and played Trivia Pursuit while the clouds got lower than our condo. It was fun.

    1. Breckenridge is so much fun...probably my favorite Colorado vacation/ski place. It is so family friendly.....but is very expensive. Instead of paying about 40 dollars for Chexy, I ended up paying 57. What!?

    2. OUCH! That's a bit pricey. The condo we stayed in was owned by a teacher of my cousin's so I'm sure they got it for a reduced amount, if not for free. I think the pizza place was called Best Damn Pizza or something like that. We rode the alpine slide and I have a picture of me feeding a draft horse. It was a lot of fun and I wouldn't mind going back to Colorado.

    1. Yes, he is. Yukon is also shaded very well, and is pretty much LSQ.
