Riding Rusty

Hello everybody!

So, yesterday I rode Rusty. I had been riding him up until recently. He had been doing some training in the saddle and the trainer training him wanted no one (except for Mrs. June) to ride him. But now he can be ridden by me, so yesterday I hopped on his broad back (with Mrs. June's permission) to show my Grandparents (who are visiting from Florida) what "I do." Here are some pictures from yesterday's ride:

Groundwork first. It was really windy and a storm was moving in at the time, so I was a little nervous. Even at the young age of four, he still has/had a incredible temperament and did great!

Mrs. June fixing my legs. For many years I rode the wrong way until Mrs. June came along. I am still working on my legs being in proper placement!

Walking....

....trotting.....

..and cantering!!!

I had a great time, Mrs. June. Thank you for allowing me to ride him!!

Athena

Here is yet another Greek Goddess!!! Athena joins both Hera and Aphrodite as Breyer models. She is in the Ruffian model, with some paint markings added around her belly. I love her! Maybe I will pick her up on MH$P.

This girl is my favorite out of all the Breyer Goddesses. I LOVE paints, and so I went ahead and (tried) to find a few reference photos for her.

Sadly, the picture above was the best I could find in my ten minute search. Arg....I will just have to keep looking!

Buckskin Dun

Hello everybody!
Today I was thinking about Half Pint's color. I don't know if I have told you on this blog yet, but Half Pint was considered a bay for all of her life. But when she came to us we realized that she wasn't a bay at all.

She has a dorsal stripe and a little striping on her legs. her muzzle and around her eye's are a cream-yellow color.
(summer 1990's)

But she was still considered a bay-ish horse. The AMHA (American Miniature Horse Association) couldn't figure out her true color.

(last week)

(two pictures of her sister, Paintbrush Chili Pepper).

So, Mrs. June and I think that she is a dun of some sort. I spent a lot of time researching horses with the dun color. But, today I think I hit a home run. I searched "Buckskin Dun" online.

.....These look more like her color than these one below..

..But I guess that we will have to wait and see till the rest of her winter undercoat foals out and is replaced with her summer one!
