Excited!

I am sure I have told you that my favorite horse color is the Grulla Pinto/Paint. If you recall in this post I pretty much raved on how much I loved the color. Anyway, I happened to have a Grulla etchie I was working on. I finished her etching last week. I have glossed her eyes, hooves, nostrils, and ahem....feminine parts. She is fully mapped. All I have to do is seal her. I am glad to announce the new arrival of my herd......Moonshine!

I hope to have Calypso, Sherbet, and Untitled Name done this week. Sherbet is staring at me from his shelf in agony...I think he is next! :)

On the other hand, MEPSA has just announced that the Championship show book is going to print and all entrants should get their boxes of ribbons, results, championship show book, and the prizes will be here in the next two weeks!

Harley and Platinum Star

Even though I have already posted about Harley in a post about all of the new mid year releases, I decided to talk about him some more because I just love him so much. So far this is my favorite Breyer mold. Ever. (The Brishen mold is a close second). I almost shouted when I saw him as a regular run released mold so soon. I am just surprised that Carrick hasn't had a regular run mold yet.

This mold (Latigo) has already been introduced as a Premier Collection Model
(c) Reeves International, Inc.

and a Breyerfest Model (Platinum Star).

SO PRETTY!

Paint grullas are absolutely one of my horse favorite colors, if not my favorite color. Here are some real Pinto Grullas.

Swoon.

I love this model so much, I may end up conga-ing him! Do you like The Latigo mold?

Breyerfest 2013

Here are some of my favorite 2013 Breyerfest horses. Usually Breyerfest models have a better paint job than a regular run. "Breyerfest" is an annual weekend of Breyer model showing, meeting famous horses, and having fun held every July at the Kentucky horse park.

And starting...now!!

My favorite grulla

So, I have tried many times to customize horses, and has failed more than once. Of course, you need a lot of tools to properly remake a model horse, which really adds up for a person who can't make a annual income yet but a few I have managed to complete.
Royal blood~ a commission for a friend of mine.

Indigo, part of my own show string.

Yet, one day, I want to paint a grulla horse. It is one of the harder and more complicated colors for a model person to paint, but hey, everyone has to try, right?

This is the prettiest grulla horse I have ever seen. It's name is Reining in Diamonds, "Cricket" for short, and it is owned by Shining C Grulla Horses. She is a beautiful girl who is currently in foal to Black Tie Gunner.

......wouldn't it be cool to paint a  (model) horse that looks just like this???
