My Show Horse

My mom told me yesterday that because we were so busy we probably wouldn't get a Christmas card with pictures done this year. I reassured my mom that I would take care of the Christmas card, and that is what I did this morning. I picked out the clothes theme, did my sister's hair, found the place for pictures, put the camera on a certain setting, pulled out almost all of our animals, and then my dad took the pictures. I had the pictures edited, and the card done by lunchtime.

Anyway,  my dad took a picture of Ollie and all I can see is SHOW HORSE.

Do you see it?? I cannot wait to get into the show ring this upcoming spring!!
Just because I wanted to (and because I thought you all would like it) I added some more pictures of me with Ollie and my mini, Rosie.

More about all the horses (and Breyer updates) coming very soon, I promise!!!! :)

Rain, Hail, Water.

The weather in CO has been so odd recently. We are supposed to have a really bad winter because the drought here is over, and the large amounts of hail, rain and wind have proved it.

A few days ago torrents of hail fell from the sky, along with copious amounts of rain.

This is what everything looked like the next morning:

Lots, and LOTS of rain!!! That isn't a natural pond. It is one of our two runoff area's. Rosie and Half Pint loved running through the water.

Speaking of the mini's, they were rather athletic after that so they bucked, reared and ran around while I was outside. Luckily, I had the camera with me.

I LOVE Rosie's Tail!

Rosie Update

Rosie accepted the cart (without spooking or bolting) for the first time today. I am very happy and proud of her! Great job, baby!

New Pen Completed! (For the most part)

Daddy and I finished the pen/loafing shed on Saturday. Well, it still needs some more shingles, and the dutch door has to be made, and the fence needs wire on it to keep critters from going in..or the mini's from going out, but it is usable. I am very proud of it. Dad did a great job!

Half Pint approved.......
(Rosie is whinnying to me in this picture).
...and Rosie approved!

Have a great day!

Therapy Horses of Gentle Carousel

My first post of this blog being made public!
Thanks for looking everybody, and I hope that you enjoy my blog!!!
I would especially like to thank Mrs. Jennifer and Ms. Brenda for becoming my first followers!

So, today I was going to do a post on the special models at Breyerfest, but I came across The Gentle Carousel horses (who own Magic and Hamlet, two mini's Breyer just did portraits of) and I fell right in love. As the proud owner of two miniature horses myself, I couldn't help but posting about them today. That special Breyer post will just have to wait. I have always thought that therapy would be a good hobby for my mini's, but this website just sealed the deal.

Here is the link to the website, if you want to check it out: http://www.horse-therapy.org.

***Note: all pictures are taken off of the Gentle Carousel Therapy website.****
Here are some of the mini's they use for therapy.

Magic

Hamlet

Silver Sovereign

Sweetheart

How adorable!!!! I think one day, down the road, I will train either both or just one of my mini's to be therapy horses. And who knows, maybe ten years from now, I can start an organization of therapy minis.

My ten year old miniature horse, Rosie.
