IMEHA Superior Champion

Catty Little Snazz is now a IMEHA Superior Champion! She has a total of 1129 points right now, and has won Overall Grand Champion 3 times since I entered her in October.

Bleau Angel is also a IMEHA Superior Champion! At 1366 points, she has been the Division Champion 2 times.

Seeing these results made me excited, and so I went out today and took Harley D Zip's show picture. I may retake it... I am not sure yet, but I am going to show him in the IMEHA as well.

I do not love the dark near his face...but he is a dark faced horse so it made be hard for me to get some light on it. I like the background..I have been taking photos in different places on our property to find the best place to do model photography. I may try out a few more places, but for now I am happy with the picture. :)

Elska-Brick and Mortar Store Special

Hello, Everyone!!

I would like to introduce you to my new model, Elska.

Elska was the 2015 Brick and Mortar Store Special, with only 3000 models made, I have had Elska in my "want" list since I saw her, but I decided to wait.

Two days ago I went to the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, and I saw one of her available for sale in the early morning. I told myself that if she was still available when I was going to leave the Expo,  I would buy her. I spent the rest of the day watching clinics and Colt Starting and buying lots of food. After spending over 8 hours at the Expo it was time to leave, and so I walked buy the vendor that had her for sale and guess what!? the same model was there.

You can guess what happened next. ;)

Bad picture but look at the dapples!!

This little mare is beautiful. She really is a small Traditional, being about the same height as the Flash mold. She has huge hooves, and a stunning mane and tail.

One negative thing I have to say about this mold is that it has a poor, small hip. The neck in proportion to the hip does not quite match, but nonetheless it is still a photogenic model.

The Elska I bought has two small flaws on it's mane and a little dark streak on it's hip. The dapples on this mare are beautiful, and I am very happy to see that Breyer's quality control has really improved.

If you are interested in the Elska model, I highly suggest that you buy her. She is a very nice piece to add to the collection!

Secretariat and Harley D Zip

Hello Everyone!!

How was your Holiday season?
I am back in school....with a cold. Luckily I am getting over it and it should be gone in a few days. Anyway, last year I tried to get models that I really wanted/have wanted for a long time instead of buying any model available. I have mentioned before that I wanted Harley D Zip and Secretariat, and I decided that these two were at the top of the list for me to buy.  They happened to both be at Murdochs right after Christmas, and they were both good looking models, so I got them.

I have not done much of any model horse photography in the past few months. I am not as involved with the model horse hobby as I was before..maybe it is because I am busy with Ollie and the rest of the life outside of horses. But I still have the model horse bug and I had to buy them this year just as much as last year. :D

Secretariat is really just a beautiful model. I do not have many cantering/galloping horses so I was glad I got him. He is pretty much LSQ besides a tiny chip on his ear. His markings are clean and crisp. His color is beautiful against the snow, and he is quite photogenic.
I think if I were to suggest a model for beginner photographers, it would be Secretariat.

As you can probably see, I got a darker Harley D Zip. He actually fell of this fence post, but luckily the snow broke his fall and he suffered no breaks or chips in the paint. He is also close to LSQ (more LSQ than Secretariat) and has the most adorable face!

I am really excited to add these two to my show string, and I am even more excited to do some photography when it warms up!

I Got A Foalzilla

It happened.

I never thought I would get this model....mostly because she is just so huge.

Oh well, when I see a good deal on Amazon, I have got to take it.
Two days ago, I paid 28 dollars for the "Foalzilla", Camila.

Amazon has some really good shipping when you are a prime member (unlike Breyer) and within two days the box arrived.

Yes, I also got the 2015 Horse Of The Year for a photo show I am hosting, and some makeup.

I got the most common variation, which I was actually excited about. I love red dun paints (hint, hint BOBBY JO!) and I was crossing my fingers to get this variation of the three different types the model came in.

This filly is a BIG gal. I have seen many photos and YouTube videos on the model but I never imagined how BIG she is!

OT Sara Moniet is a small Traditional model, and I would have gotten another model out but I just wanted to photograph the two of them.

"Why are you so tall??"

All of the foal sizes (except the Mini Whinnies), going from Stablemate, Classic, Traditional, to Camila.

Anyway, this gal needs a name. Have a suggestion? Comment below!!

She Came!!

After waiting over two weeks (and from what I have heard that isn't too long..Breyer is notorious for bad shipping) OT Sara Moniet RSI came! She is beautiful and quite possibly one of my favorite molds. She has some minor rubs on her tail and her mane, and a very small beginning rub on her hindquarter, but she is pretty "clean" otherwise. I am so hooked on the mold that I am already considering the thought of buying Smoke. Here are a few pictures, I am sorry that they aren't the usual quality of my other photos, but I was rushing and the lighting isn't the best outside right now.

I think why I like this mold in particular is that she is very "feminine" in her face and she is very elegant throughout her whole body. Breyer is ruled by Stallions and Geldings, so it is good to see a very "womanly" model being sold as a regular run! :)

QOTD: Do you have OT Sara Moniet RSI? Do you have Smoke? Do you like her?

P.S. She needs a name!! If you all could help me out with that it would be great! Just comment below your thoughts. :)

Sonsela-Mid States Distributing Model

Hello everyone!! Sorry (how many times will I say that?) that I haven't posted! I have been on vacation in Florida then I started school again. Yay.

On the other hand, I haven't bought many model horses this year. I don't have much room for them left, so I am only choosing the ones I really like and am quite selective about the model quality now.

Until I saw Sonsela.

Yeah.....she did have some flaws, but she was so pretty....forget about the quality control.

Sonsela is a 2015 Mid-States Distributing model. The swishy tail version of the Lady Phase molds, in a beautiful bay appaloosa blanket. She also has a star, small stripe, and socks on three of her legs.

Next to my long tail Lady Phase version mare, Sheza Autumn Storm.
Because this is a intricate appy pattern, I knew she would have flaws (true to Breyer's quality control..though it has gotten better. Kudos to them on that!). Still, a pattern like this is not typical of "normal" runs.

I will get better pictures when I can...

My Sonsela has some masking problems, a minor ear rub, and a weird bit of striped shading on her stomach on her left side (picture above). But besides that, she is beautiful, and I am so happy to have her!!

More posts to come soon.
