This is my 200th post on this blog. It is also this blog's one year anniversary (It was actually a few days back, but I forgot to tell you). So, throughout the whole year we have.....

All Sparkly, Pink and Painted

Breyer just keeps releasing more great stuff that I  cannot buy at the moment. First, I will show you the Classic version of fairy tale's and sparkles.

Meet Glitter and Gem




Breyer describes them as:

 Glitter and Gem remind me of Bella and Mozart, who were released earlier this year. Do I see a series coming up?



Because I am not into fantasy models, I almost jumped with excitement when I saw this:





Introducing Vixen and Blitzen. I absolutely love the paint job (and the little blankets!) but I still do not know if I will be able to get her. They are a limited release of 1000, and Vixen has "Happy Holidays 2014" on her belly. This is most certainly going to go on my Christmas wishlist.

Something Interesting....

While I have a very interesting blog post coming up sometime after this one, I have decided to linger on the fact that we have another silver limited release model.....

A Silver Ashquar!!
His hooves and pinking on his nose do not match, but I find that no big deal. He and Aspen remain one of my few favorite silver models. Do you all like him too?

Also, I got an email stating that if you bought 50 dollars or more on the Breyer website, you would receive a free calender. While I am not buying any models at the moment much to my despair (just got a horse!) I did notice something:

It looks like a new Cloud the wild stallion set!!! They have just retired the last two sets that have been around for a while, so I wouldn't be surprised if this happens to be a new set. If so, I am totally buying it, because I love the Palomino Stallion (Cloud)!!

Snow Leopard Drawing

I needed to draw something.
The picture below gave my inspiration to draw this:

I thought I would draw an actual snow leopard. I think it turned out pretty nice!

Unexpected Suprises

While Ollie/Jasper (I seem to be leaning more towards the name Ollie because my dad thinks Jasper is too feminine for a gelding) was quite a surprise, I was even more surprised when I got an email from Devon Comstock, who won my recent rope halter giveaway....

"Hi, I just got the halters! They look awesome. Thanks so much for sending them :) Included a couple of pictures!

These two foals are Breyer website exclusives. I think I will get them, after I finish buying everything for Ollie/Jasper. I cannot wait for him to come tomorrow!!! I will talk in more depth about Poncho, Champ, and the 2015 collector horse soon.

Spooky/TSC Models/Christmas Horse

Quite a few new models have popped up on the Breyer website and MH$P recently. I will start off with the spookiest looking characters, and make my way to the Christmas horse. Enjoy!


Breyer has already announced their Halloween collection. I am not a big fan of decorator models except for the few that catch my eye, so I will probably not be buying any of these models. 

 It seems as if the Goffert mold has been the go-to model for Breyer in 2014. It was used as the celebration model at Breyerfest, Kashmir in the Big Cat series, and now a Halloween Special called Night Mare. 

 

Also, another surprising mold was used for the second Halloween Horse named Mischief Night. He is in Classic scale....and the last time we was used by Breyer was in 2001. Can you guess who he is?

That is right. The mold "Hobo" was used for the first time in 13 years.  I am sure some vintage collectors are very happy this mold is still in use. 

Like most all Breyer Halloween models, these  horses both glow in the dark an eerie green color. I wish all of you the spookiest kind of luck getting your hands on them. Watch out at night....sometimes the headless horseman needs a new steed. bwahahahahaha!!!

Just so you know: I am not one to scare people, so I am sorry if my spooky comments sound like they originated from a child in kindergarten. :)

The Tractor Supply Company  exclusive models this year are very nice, Travis and Maverick.   Maverick seems to be least preferred out of the two, which would make a perfect amount of sense, being that Travis is in the Carrick mold. Maverick is in the Missouri Fox Trotter a.k.a Iron Metal Chief mold. He is a very pretty dun with points. While I do prefer Travis, I do think that Maverick would look very nice on my shelf. However, I find the MFT models to have really wonky looking legs.

The second TSC exclusive horse is in the ever popular new mold, Carrick. His name is Travis and he is a stunning black and white tobiano. I have also heard that Carrick has uneven legs..but I really want Travis. I just don't want to pay 80+ dollars for him when I am trying to buy a real horse.


Also, the Christmas Horse is available to buy! I have mentioned this pretty boy on my blog before, if you remember from a few months back. Bayberry and Roses is a pretty shaded grey. he does look a little "purple" however but it could just be the lighting on the photo.


It is hard to find a photo of him without his "clothes", but I will keep looking and post it here when I find one.


I LOVE this ornament.I think I will buy this horse, take off his ornament part, attach him to a base, then show him. He is so pretty! Just look at that face!


This is a very long blog post.....sorry about that! I just found I was a little behind in the model horse world than I thought.

Frosty-Cold Already?

Ok, I don't know if the Title makes any sense...but you will figure it out by the time I am done.

Frosty (brother to Flurry) was released on to the Breyer Website a few days ago.



Frosty and Flurry are both in Classic scale, however Flurry is "Shire" ..and Frosty is "Shire B". Breyer made two variations of the same mold a few years back (think Brishen and Laredo). Basically, the only difference between the two is Frosty has his ears to the side, and his head down.
 I was surprised they released Frosty so early.....it isn't even fall yet. The grass is still green. It is still over 80 degrees outside. People are still wearing t-shirts and shorts. Unless Breyer Reeves is going by  Russian weather, I think Breyer should have waited till it was a little......frostier. Maybe Breyer just wanted us all to have an early Christmas gift. :)

Just like I am about to.

Anyway, my birthday was a complete hit. A am missing some photos, but to round it up, I went out to breakfast with my dad, bought Breyer horses, relaxed, had some friends come over, we all hiked, had dinner, ate cake, and then my friends went home and I went to bed. Pretty much a perfect day.

Anyway....I just found the next Big Cat!



I was wondering when the next Big Cat would come around. It has seemed like a while since Kimbia was released.


A Snow Leopard!!

I have to admit, in a very weird  interesting way, I kind of like him. I probably would buy him, actually. I REALLY like him much more than Kimbia. I also find the coloring fascinating.

I have always been a fan of Snow leopards. I find them very...mystical.



For a long time, I really liked Cheetah's. Now I am into Snow leopards.


On the other hand, I took some of my Stablemates that hardly ever see the sun outside for a photo-shoot. I counted last night, and I have a grand total of 96 Breyer Horses. It was then when I realized "how much money have I actually spent on these!?"
