Not much

I wasn't doing much today. Well, to be specific, I wasn't doing much model wise today. I was actually looking up cool semi-to rare breeds for some live showing references. Here are some that I found:

Mangalarga Marchador

Mangalarga Marchador: Garanhões De Haras Quatro Irmãos Idioma da Expert (Joazeiro CER X Halfazema da malagueta)

Campolina

Campolina stallion Hamon de Luanda

Marwari

Belgian Brabant

Belgian Brabant stallion

American Bashkir Curly

A Curly is a breed of horse. Curlies, also called Bashkir Curlies, American Bashkir Curlies, and North American Curly Horses, come in all sizes, colors, and body types but all carry a gene for a unique curly coat of hair. The Curlies are known for their calm, intelligent and friendly personality. They show an easily trainable temperament. They are also known for having a tough constitution and great stamina. chrismarper

Budyonny

Sugarbush Draft Horse

A Sugarbush Draft Horse, an American draft breed developed in the 1950s from crossing Appaloosas and draft breeds.

Mulassier

Tiger Horse

Konik mare Turkawka

Konik mare Turkawka. Konik is a small Polish breed that originates straight from the Tarpan which is now extinct. Koniks have been used as drafts, pack ponies and riding horses in small Polish farms. It's strong and though despite of its size. Usually they are grullas (as Turkawka) but they can also be duns.

African Wild Ass foal.

African Wild Ass foal. While domestic donkeys and burros are plentiful, the wild subspecies are critically endangered.

That is all that i have here for today. Come on back when I have a better post!!

Retired Greek Gods and yet another Breyerfest horse

I knew that I shouldn't have done it....click the "RETIRED" bar on the breyer website. Yes, I am always on Identify Your Breyer, but it isn't the same when you are looking at it on the Breyer web. After I clicked "RETIRED" and almost fell apart when I saw that (like I needed to be reminded) O' Leary's Irish Diamond was gone **sniffles** (I still don't have him, really want him. Secret Santa maybe?) Anyway, after that emotional moment, I went to the Limited Edition Retired products and stumbled on some of the Greek Gods from last year. They were so beautiful, that I had to post them. I will let the banners speak for themselves.

He actually was released before Dionysus, but he didn't come with a banner and I didn't want to mess up "The look." So beautiful! I am not particularly fond of glossy models though. I think I would be more happy with the Greek Goddess series because the first model released in the series (Hera) looks matte.

Speaking of which, Breyerfest has released another horse in celebration of their birthday.....

Bonne Fete (French for "Happy Birthday")

Bonne Fete is a red bay appy in the Carrick mold. This is the second release of this mold. Carrick began first, who was the 2013 Premier club special. I like him (Bonne Fete), but I have heard from others who own Carrick and say that he has wonky legs (some longer than others). I don't know.....maybe I will have someone pick him up for me at Breyerfest!!!

Carrick

****Note: There was a bay roan Carrick made for the 2013 Breyerfest auction, but I didn't count him as a "normal run" because he was one of a kind.***

Bridleless

So, because I don't have extra money to spend on beautiful bridles and saddle sets which are lavish and beautifully made by tack makers, I decided to to buy this set, too give a try at a performance entry in MEPSA (Model Equine Photo Showers Association).

I love this horse....and the one I saw had (has) a great paintjob. So, I  bought it, went home and looked at pictures of a proper english bridle.

Though the styles varied for the different sports and breeds.....

They all had they correct parts that they needed.

However...
The Breyer bridle seems to lack some of these parts.

Even this one! But it definitely isn't as bad as the one on my beloved Stage mom mold, Theodora. I have decided to not even try the performance entry...and I think saving some money for a nice bridle by a good tack-maker won't be such a money-spender after all. : D

Till then,

P.S. I almost forgot......

The Greek Goddess=Hera

Last week, Breyer released the new Greek Goddess series.
Although the entries are closed to enter to win her, you may be able to pick one up on MH$P. I just thought that she was so stunning, so I have some pictures of her. She is in the Stage Mom mold.

Isn't this gal so stunning!? I really wished that I could have gotten her. But no, I forgot to enter (!) and so, the entering was closed before I realized. I am still depressed over it.  I found some for sale, but they ranged from  $240-300. I don't have the money for that right now so....maybe a Secret Santa gift for this Christmas? :D

And another Exclusive Breyerfest special mold has been released....
No. 711185 Jubilee

Very pretty, isn't he? I wish I was going to Breyerfest.......

P.S. By the way...meet the monthly mascot for Bits and Spurs! This is Tuyet. At the end of the year we will vote on our favorite mascot! There is a preview of the March mascot somewhere on this blog....(Don't worry, she is pretty easy to find).
